God is Worthy

God above is worthy of all the praise and adoration we could possibly give Him today. Our Father loves us. He truly does, and He always has our best interest at heart. As a loving Father, He instructs us how to stay away from what is harmful and detrimental to our wellbeing. He instructs us through His Word, the Bible. Anything the Bible calls a sin is a behavior each child of God needs to stay away from. We should stay away. We know we should, but the truth is Christians can get caught up in sin very easily, just as easily as non-Christians. Only when Christians are under the control of sin our salvation is at stake. But what are we to do? We love God. We go to church. We want to be right with God, but we are drawn in, enticed by unrighteousness. Our hypocrisy eats away at our conscience. We cannot go to heaven this way. 1 Corinthians 6:9 says, “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? At the same time, we are afraid to be discovered by our brothers and sisters in Christ. The shame. The embarrassment. There doesn’t seem to be a way out, but there is. No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13. You won’t beat sin on your own. You need somebody to help, somebody who loves you enough to stay by your side and not accept excuses at the same time. Listen, church. We have members who are hurting right now. This congregation needs to be a place where we can all be honest about our failures. Every member needs another member to turn to, without judgment. Let us confess that we are sinners in need of forgiveness.
