The UNDO Button

Do you play solitaire on your cell phone? I don’t have games on phone now, but years ago I had solitaire in case I had to wait on somebody. Growing up playing sports has made me a little (overly) competitive at most everything I do and solitaire is no exception. I played to win and would get perturbed when I make a bad move, but years ago I found a button that reduced the stress in my miniature video world. It is called “Undo.” Have you discovered “Undo” yet? It’s wonderful. If you make a bad move, play a card you should not have played, you can hit the “Undo” button and it puts the card right back. If you bump a card by accident and it jumps on to a pile, just hit “Undo.” You can hit “Undo” as many times as you like. It will erase your mistakes as far back as you need to go. I love “Undo” when I play solitaire, but I am far more excited about the “Undo” button given to me by God, “As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12. When I make a poor decision or say the wrong thing or violate God’s commandments, the blood of Christ allows me to “Undo.” I can start again and do it right this time, 1 John 1:9. The Bible has an “Undo” button for marriage as well. When this button is installed in both the husband and the wife, the marriage has a built-in repair system, 1 Corinthians 13:5. When I was baptized, that was the biggest “Undo” button of them all. All the wrongs of my past were erased, every sin I ever committed was forgotten, and a new chance at life was given to me. I am so grateful God showed me how to “Undo” through His grace. It is hard to imagine life without it. We sin and we need forgiveness.
