Learning the Word of God and applying what you learn, not only makes your spirit well; it also blesses you with mental/ emotional health. There is a right way of thinking and a wrong way of thinking. Think about it. I’ll bet a problem you’re facing right now in your life can be traced to thinking the wrong way about an obstacle or situation you faced in the past. Right? What you believe guides the way you think and feel which guides the choices you make and the things you do. If your belief is wrong, the way you think and approach life is going to be wrong and the thing you do will go wrong. You will make bad choices and if you happen to have made a good one it was by accident. That’s just the way it is. So, if you want to improve your life, you need to discover what is true and align your belief system with the truth. Revelation 19:9 says, “These are true words of God.” Read the Bible. Is it true? If the answer is, “Yes” then believe what you read, align your thought process with the truth. Nothing will make a greater impact on your life than doing what I just described. What you learn today in Bible class and church could save you hours of heartache, regret and grief. I’m telling you this because I love this congregation very much. I want you to have a good life. I want you to experience life as God intended it. “Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.” James 1:21-22. Decide that you are going to become what God wants you to be. Learn from the good and bad examples you find in scripture. Challenge yourself to be 100% Christian (Christ-like) 100% of the time.
