Seek Out Jesus

Curtis’ Corner

“and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ.” Philemon 1:6 (ESV). When we get together as Christians it strengthens our faith. The praying and singing and taking the Lord’s Supper and preaching, it all motivates us to trust God more and want to know Him in a deeper way. When our faith is strong life is good. We have more spiritual strength to fight off temptation. We make better, Bible-based, Will of God-seeking decisions. The best way to make your faith grow is to give it away. Sharing your faith makes your faith increase. As you talk to others about your relationship with Jesus Christ and about how they can have their sins forgiven through the cleansing blood of Christ, their hunger for more knowledge will grow and when it does your confidence in the power of God’s Word will grow as well. “I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective.” Sharing your faith will become effective when you learn to trust in God’s Word to guide lost souls to salvation and not in your self-perceived talents. Humbly tell others about the benefit of being in the Word of God daily and getting to Bible class and worship services so they can hear the Word. “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17 (ESV). The power to change lives is in the Word, not in your ability. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” Romans 1:16 (ESV). Sharing your faith benefits you as well as the one you are sharing with. While teaching someone else you gain a “full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ.” Tell someone about Christ. Seek out a person who wants to learn and let them know God loves them.
