In the past 14 years there has been a rapid growth in the spread of the Christian message in France among the group calling themselves “evangelical churches.” Catholicism is the unquestioned dominant religion in France. Protestant churches only made up 2.1% of the national population in 2012. But by 2017 it grew to 3.1%. That’s growing from a 1,407,000 to 2,077,000 membership in 5 years. And they are still growing today, claiming they start a new church in France every 10 days. While the rest of Christendom has been in decline since 2000, here is a section of denominational churches on the rise, young adults being their fastest growing demographic. They are doing it in two stages. Stage 1: Pure old-fashioned evangelism. The members get out and talk to friends and neighbors about Jesus inviting them to church. Stage 2: Discipling. The older members work with the new converts sharing the Word with them. And here is the key: Their primary tool for growth is social media. Phones, computers, other internet devices which can be used for evil, are being used for good to share Bible classes, sermons and devotionals. Since my first contact with BibleTalk.tv in 2012 I have utilized this biblically sound teaching tool to help reach the lost and keep the saved saved. BibleTalk.tv does not do the work for us but it amplifies any effort we invest in sharing Christ with others if we will just take the time to use it.
