Would you say your life turned out exactly the way you thought it would? If so, you are the rare exception. When I was a teenager, I had no idea I would be doing what I am doing now, living where I am living now. Most of you would probably say the same. Those who have lived in this same place their whole lives may have always assumed this is where they would live, but most of us look back and say, “Wow. This was not what I expected.” Life is full of surprises. Solomon once said, “I again saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift and the battle is not to the warriors, and neither is bread to the wise nor wealth to the discerning nor favor to men of ability; for time and chance overtake them all.” Ecclesiastes 9:11. Time and chance. Time changes things and every chance we take can lead to different results. As you look back on your life, you most likely have taken some chances that you should not have taken. You have made choices you wish you could go back and change. You suffered the consequences and may still be suffering for the mistakes you made. As you have learned more of God’s Word perhaps you have come to realize that your mistakes are more than just bad choices. They are sins, transgressions of God’s standard of morals. That makes us feel even worse. We have failed to follow the instructions God gave us, to do what He placed us on this earth to do. We can’t undo our wrong moral choices but what if there was a way to be free from the guilt of those sins? What if there was some way to have every transgression you have made of the law of God go away, to start over again with a clean slate? There is a way. There is a way right now. Let me tell you about it.
