God bless you for being here to worship God today. How wonderful to be assembled with Christians. It is my prayer that you have prepared your heart to receive God’s Word. Today God’s Word is going to be preached from the pulpit and taught in Bible class. Listen carefully and look up the scriptures. Let the message mature you. The more mature you are in your walk with God the less likely you are to be fooled by false teaching. Ephesians 4:11-12 says, “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ.” Here at the Church of Christ, we build each other up by the things we do and say. We won’t stop until every member is mature. The next verse says, “until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” The more spiritual maturity this body has, the more God is going to be able to do through us and the less likely our members will be fooled by false doctrine. The next verse says, “As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming.” Grow up in your faith. Mature in Christ. That is the goal of this congregation, and we do it by applying sound Bible teaching. Paul warns that there is going to be religious people who are cunning and crafty, teaching things that have no scriptural authority. Are you looking for straight forward, basic Christianity? So are we. Join us. Open your Bible today and read along as we learn what God’s Word says.
